Ok, ok ....so I know your all like WTF seriously another guy asking a "how to"..... DIY, swap 'er another thing... NOPE.....NOT the case.

I'm capable of using the search button and know how to build a motor

Here's my thing, I have kinda stockpiled my garage with motors, parts and a mk1 cabby and am looking for a fun combo. I've done a 1.8t swap into the mk1, a vr into a mk2 a 16vt rabbit so I am just looking for what your opinions are for my next project. I'm looking for a challenge but something rewarding and obviously a hybrid (hence the forum)

So the research has come up with the ABA 16v either carbed or turbo or s/c, the 16v g60 or any new combos with any form of aspiration.

What I'm looking for is personal experience's, preferences, opinions, pros/cons , numbers and yada yada yada

    Let the onslaught begin.

    Cheers

16v/aba Turbo mid engine rear wheel drive

the rear strut tops should be the same distance apart, so cut a hold, reinforce, mount fwd subframe in the rear, make tie rods, plumb water, fuel and oil, make floor and firewall for rear
    wire, tune enjoy

lightweight car that handles like a dream, perfect balance and the ability to actually put good power down to the groudn not spin em up

Now that sounds like a project I'd jump into....If I had the engineering skills to complete it. I have heard about the ABA 16vt combo and it could be some fun.

I don't think it would be as easy as that, but would be a bad ass idea....like a 2 seater cabby go-cart. How would you reverse mount the shifter linkage and would the reverse swap centered over the rear struts work ? all the plumbing and electrical wouldn't be an issue.

I have thought about a syncro setup as well and maintaining the front motor but if someone could elaborate on the rear setup maybe I'd give er a go.

I am all for a challenge and have planned on doing something new for a while now,

Thanks and keep the ideas coming

Here is a couple of ideas... these Cabbys were fast. this VRT is a 10 sec car.

    I combined a 16v 9A and a ABA and made a Rocket engine.

Naw no cutting yet. I'm still kinds of in the R&D stage. Ive got no issues with fabrication more so with geometry but it's probably like everything measure 3 times cut once. I have started stripping down the motors and am thinking the 16v ABA turbo as the way to go. I have ordered the bahnbrenner kit and am starting to hunt down some stronger internals.
