OFFICIAL MKV .:R32 Monthly Photo Contest

Greetings!

As has been requested in our previous photo contest thread; we are kicking off a monthly photo contest for the MKV .:R32 Forum. Each Month I'll add a new contest theme and anyone in this forum can post a single photo to add to the competition. At the end of each month I'll create a vote thread with all the entries and we'll see who the winner is .



There are just a couple simple rules for this thread and this contest, as follows:

1. You may only post ONE entry per monthly contest. You may, however, change your entry as many times as you like up to the last day of the month. Please do not post a new reply with your new entry as it will just clutter up the thread and make my job harder. If you wish to change your entry photo, simply edit your original photo reply and change out the pic to your new entry.
2. If you win a monthly photo contest, you may not enter for the next 2 months. Please feel free to add photos that meet the monthly theme (to promote friendly competition) but any photos from the previous 2 months' winners will not be added to the voting.
3. Any entry to a monthly photo contest MUST be a new photo taken during the current month and never used before on the forum. I will obviously be holding everyone to the honor system on this one, but if I get a link or post stating they've seen your photo posted before then we'll be looking at the picture date, etc to see if there is an issue.
4. Pertaining to this thread: Please feel free to post or comment on photos as they are added, but no negative comments. If you have ideas for a monthly photo contest feel free to share them and I'll be happy to put them to use as well

I hope everyone enjoys the contest, the comeraderie and the chance to improve our photo skills.

May's Photo of the Month Contest Theme will be:

SIGNS OF SPRING - You know... May flowers and all that

To compete in this contest, please post 1 photo of an .:R32 in a spring themed setting. Try to capture the brightness and renewal that makes spring such a vital season. Use your imagination; it doesn't have to BE spring signs; just something that portrays the "feel" or vibrant colors of spring

Photoshop touch-ups and color correction are fine; but no "in-depth" editing should be used. I think HDRs are fine as well (and I was planning to do an HDR only monthly coming up so you may want to hold out for that ) as the original photography involved is the key to making them look their best.

My goal here wasn't to strap people with too many rules or restrictions, I'd rather see the creativity flowing; but we also don't want to go so far that people without photoshop (like me ) can't even compete.

Hopefully we won't have any photoshop entries; but the idea of this is to improve on our photography skills, not our image modification skills

I just broke out the camera, so how about extreme editing for the phototaking impaired. Will post a pic soon.

Well, no one ever posted anything which is kind of sad I took a drive to look for spring, but sadly most of the area was already void of wildflowers. May is pretty much summer around here!

I suppose the blue is vibrant enough.

June is traditionally the start of the summer months, the release from schooling, and often the busy month for vacation times. As such, our June Photo Contest will be:


MAKING A SPLASH- Get those cameras ready...



To compete in this contest, please post 1 photo of an .:R32 in a Water-themed setting, specifically splashing water if possible. The bigger the splash the better, I don't want to give away ideas but use your imagination and find the biggest splash you can

Here is my photo entry for "Making a Splash" June.

We went on a 180 mile "Sunday Drive" today. Much of the drive was along the old Erie Canal in western Ohio and in some areas, the canal still has water in it. We stopped at this bridge because it had a historical marker for it.

We found out the bridge is called "Bloody Bridge".



These pictures are for reference.





If you read the marker, it explains the historical sugnificance of the bridge. It was the scene of a murder back 158 years ago... Anyway, when I read the marker, I imagined that Minnie would have made quite a "SPLASH"!
