Figured I'd offer some helpful info, if anyone is interested... First off, does your camera have auto bracketing? IE: Can it take pictures at different exposures at the same time basically... This isn't a really big deal, but VERY helpful if you don't have a newer copy of Photoshop (CS5-6, 4 maybe)... Anyways, here's the basic steps if you don't already know:
Take 3 pictures and 3 different exposures (-2, 0, +2)... Some people will take 5 pictures to do it, one at each exposure (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2), but you can play around with it and do how you wish... I find the 3 exposures works good for me...
You can also do the exposures in Photoshop manually if you want, which comes in very handy if you don't have auto bracketing, since changing the exposures manually takes a VERY steady hand, otherwise you risk moving the camera... Oh yeah, a tripod helps toAgain, unless you're going to do the exposures in Photoshop...
Once that is done, get a program to do the HDR stuff for you honestly... I personally use Photomatix, extremely easy to use and very handy and changing settings, etc...
Overall, the HDR process isn't to hard really and can lead to some very nice pictures... You just gotta play around with it and get a basic understanding of how to complete the process...
Hope this helps anyone who may be interested in taking more of these types of pics![]()

September is generally recognized as the month that kicks off the fall (for some of you in the wrong hemisphere it would of course be spring instead). Regardless of your location, both of these seasons are marked by their amazing depth of color and brilliant displays whether it be fall leaves or spring flowers. So, to commemorate both of these amazing seasons, I present to you our September contest theme:
A .:RIOT OF COLOR!-
To compete in this contest, please post 1 photo of an .:R32 surrounded by a .:Riot of color. I am not going to apply any more rules than that, as I hope to see some interesting color concepts at work. Use your imagination and lets see some amazingly colorful shots!
Photoshop touch-ups and color correction are fine; but no "in-depth" editing should be used. I think HDRs are fine as well, as the original photography involved is the key to making them look their best.
My goal here wasn't to strap people with too many rules or restrictions, I'd rather see the creativity flowing; but we also don't want to go so far that people without photoshop (like me) can't even compete. (now I just have to find an .:R32 to photograph for my entry
)
Good Luck!

I think everyone knows what October's theme needs to be... How can we not do a Halloween theme in the month of October? Cool cars, cool costumes, cool nights, and cool parties mean it's just the time of the season, yeah? So without further ado I present to you the theme for October's Monthly Photo Contest:
Sca.:Re Me!!!-
To compete in this contest, please post 1 photo of an .:R32 surrounded by, covered by, or costumed in a Scary Halloween Theme. The scarier the better, however please keep entries in the PG-13 or below categories. Once again, I am not going to apply any more rules than that, as I hope to see some interesting concepts and creative decorations at work. Use your imagination and lets see some amazing shots!
