So we have a shower/tub surround that is one piece fiberglass. I don't like it but too $$$ to replace atm. Anyway, I dropped a hammer in there when I was doing some other work to the bathroom and now there are a few tiny cracks (almost scratches really) in the bottom of the insert. What is the best way to seal up/fix this?

Googleing results in some 'glass patching kits but those seem to be more appropriate for much larger cracks/holes. These are practically splits in the outer layer. Maybe a small bit of silicone would serve my purpose and not require me to sand/lay down fiberglass strips/sand some more/epoxy/seal etc?

I had a guy come and fix ours at a rental we were living in. It cost $100, and you could not see where the repair was when he was done. He patched it and sprayed it with an airbrush.
