The square hole to rhe right is where the fednder bolt was or is.
how bad is it?Iknow there is some patching to be done.
I tried to load. A Video but it wont load up. On. The forim.
I will take some pictures and post them .....
the link is good... the video works fine, though it seems the intent was to embed it, and im not sure that can be done. but im not in any way an expert...
the rust though... that is not fine and may just give me some nightmares over the next week or so.
Video looks to be of the LHS, inside the sill section and then through the body hole of the box section across the front of the floor ?? correct me if I am wrong.
The sill can be fixed fairly easily ( look up team andy leela threads) , the boxed in section across the front of the body will require a lot more work if there is thru corossion present. In both cases you will nead to neutralise the rusting process then seal it with some heavy inhibitors.
found this site a while back, I am sure you will have similar in the US.
If it aint a Mk1 then it's a donor....

Where the spot light is a pressure spot from a miss-guided jack.
the two outer fang marks are not poked thru just the under coat.
This is my night mare I can see where three layers of sheet metal come to gether and
It needs mending.
The good it looks like the up and down frame part looks like it isnt rusted from inside out.

I have sacraficed 2 s-2's to get here.I am not quiting or giving up on my 76.
I have reproduction floor pans and the floor pan out of gretta.
I have a load of replacemant patch metal,I was not realy prepared for the
triple layer sheet metal.
I wish to run a a 9/A with a 020,no boost all engine I want to get dual webers.
I mention this so torque and weight are in consideration.
If have to use my tax money to fix the sheet metal so be it.
This is my scirocco there are were many like it but this one is mine,
I will not quit it will get fixed.I am so serious it has insurance and I registered it.
Cincy or bust I want to attend before a magnetic comet blows up the earth.
Cut the front out of this this piece for my front frame patch Then work the floor pans.
I confused where to start.
sitting at bills.. not the right year, but I sure it would be a lot cheaper to use it and graft whatever parts you need onto that one.. You would be just wasting your time and money fixing that one. It is not like you are restoring it, and even if you were, there is no market for a restored Scirocco.

The bad part of the frame spot is anly like 6 to 9 inches long.
There is no way i am getting anothet body.
I have what i want.
So no one else has patched up this area.If so i will be one of the few that has.
I have a ideas how to fix this.
i was just trying to see if outhrr people have had this issue in the past.
And not junk the car.
Is it just that lower corner you are trying to fix? I would think with some sheet metal and some metal shaping tools aka body hammers and dollies and any other blunt objects you could just fab up a piece to patch it with. The 3 layers of metal are all different pannels joining at the conjuction. Feel lucky theres ony 3, lots of new cars have many more layers meeting than that.
I just took it out.
This is just a recent one but there are many examples of metal repair to be had here in the 'Vex
Lets keep in mind people; They don't make these any more...
