Ok so I am in the market for an exhaust for my 20th and I have been looking at 42dd, which I like. But I have heard some people just buying and 20th style Magnaflow exhaust and going to a shop to do the piping. My question is if I do go that route, could they do a full turbo back, or would it just be like a cat back system. And what would be the best size of piping to get I have heard either 2.5 or 3, which is better? I do plan on tuning the car here soon. So if you guys could help me out that would be great.

I'm pretty sure that shop can install a full TB, but not 100% sure ( I think it depends on where you live). However, I would recommend getting the 42DD (I would rather pay more for a SS system like Eurojet or APR but that's more $) but that's your choice. Putting a full 3' TBE is recommended if you are going big turbo, if you are just tuning stage 1 or 2 a 2.5' system will be just fine and save you money

    Hope this helps

Yes that does help, Now I heard that its a lil cheaper to buy the parts on 42DD separate than as a whole exhaust system? Any truth to that. Would I need to upgrade my motor mounts or anything.

I would think that buying it as a system would be cheaper but maybe 42DD is different

Seems you get about $100 off if you get the system, you way be able to buy them separate for cheaper somewhere else, idk.

You wouldn't have to upgrade anything, it will just bolt on and sound great

Ya I did the math you save more doing it as a whole. It's like its about $880 for the whole thing which isnt bad. But they do recommed to replace the dog bone motor mounts, which are only like $25-29 which is bad at all.

I have a tectonics downpipe into a high flow cat with an APR cat back and I couldn't be more happier with the sound. Sounds good idling and screams when you get on it.

I plan on buying a 3" downpipe of eBay and having a local shop attach it to the stock cat an build the rest back with a Magnaflow. Haven't priced it yet. I don't plan on spending anymore than $500 on the complete exhaust. It's just metal piping. Never understood why these companies want some much money for them.

Ya I know its crazy when I was in High school with my Civic it was only like $300 total for my exhaust. But let me know how much that ends up being. Trying tot get all my ducks in a row before I put out money on it
