No permissions for posting attachments?

Hey everyone,

In the bottom left permissions box when creating a post, it says I have all of the permissions, except to post attachments.

Can someone tell my why this is this case and how I can be granted those permissions?

Also, how do I get rid of the noob label- number of threads I contribute to? Length of time as a member?


Any input would be appreciated.

We don't have attachments turned on for anyone except the moderators and administrators. Our forum database is so large already that it would cause issues if we allowed everyone to use attachments.

As far as the "noob" title, it's post count related, and you've moved beyond it already.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah...I can see that. If everybody on here were busy uploading attachments, the amount of server space, and bandwidth to boot that would be needed would be insane.

I'm curious, I see posts sometimes that are very very old. Do you guys do database house cleaning at times to recoup server space?


Also, is there list or some other reference area for the different levels of member status and the number of posts it requires for each one?

No, we keep everything around - there's a wealth of info in a lot of the posts here, and we like to keep that available as a resource to the community.

Noob: 0 - 9 posts
Semi-noob: 10 - 19 posts
Junior Member: 20 - 99 posts
Member: 100 - 19,999 posts
Senior Member: 20,000 - 34,999 posts
Geriatric Member: 35,000+ posts

Ha ha, that was way funny- I feel ya. I thought it was awesome that dude posted that. I think it should be part of the new member FAQ personally- it is good info to know!

I don't know if I've ever seen a geriatric member- that person must have waaay too much time on their hands. But I will definitely give props to a senior member next time I talk with one. That's a sh*t-ton of posts!

So my question is:

Is this info posted somewhere for reference, and if not how do we get it added?
