This.
Do you pay for the food you eat or the clothes you wear?
If yes, you can pay for the music you listen to also. Or listen to the radio, since that doesn't cost anything. Or any of the streaming services online, Pandora, Spotify, Rdio, etc.
If no, either grow up and stop depending on mommy or stop stealing ****.
Deal with it.

Oh, here's another alternative for you. Buy the cds used off of Amazon marketplace. Often times you can get albums for around $3 shipped.
Deal with it.

im not gonna get on my high horse here and go off on you because you steal music.
i play in a band and have come to realize we cannot make money selling albums
like back in the day before downloading. We have to make our money selling merch.
I can honestly tell you every single song that is on my computer is because i paid $15-$25 for the cd
or i have converted it from records to mp3 or tape.I am a little older and i remember going to the record store (budget tapes and records) and buying a album because of cool cover art.Not because
my buddy downloaded it and it sounds killer.Just do me a favor you got the extra $20 in your pocket
go buy the cd it help the artists even 80% goes to record label but the artist does see a few cents.![]()

With Droid and iPhones in nearly everyone's pockets these days...."free" music accessibility is almost endless as long as you have a wifi or cell connection. youtube, playlist.com, etc... Not quite as seamless as having an mp3, m4a on a music player....but there and risk free.
I used to download free music when I was young and broke but no longer do. I pay, mainly because it is easier, free of viruses and doesn't put my name on a list. Though I don't necessarily agree with millionaires crying about lost profit but they are creating something and if I want it, I should pay for it. In the last 2 months I have probably spent $200 on music. Damn iTunes and having every song I want at the double click of a mouse![]()

He recived a email stateing that he will need to appear in court on such and such day at such in such time and or could face fines up to $250,000.I dont know the details (being that he lives in LA) He said that they had tracked his IP address. He called the phone number that was listed on the email address and it was a lawyers office in LA.I will get all the info and let you know all the info

i don't condone downloading music illegally (hell, i don't even support legal downloading...go buy the record, have a physical copy), but this sounds fishy. first of all, almost all cases that were brought to court were because of SHARING files, not downloading them. if your brother was sharing then i guess this could make sense.
the second and more important thing is why he would call a number that was mailed to him! i know this is how directv caught people years ago when stealing SAT tv was running rampant. they sent out mass letter saying they "knew" you were stealing service with a hacked card, call this number to settle or we take you to court. you know what happened...the people that called payed a several thousand dollar fine, while the people that threw the letter away got nothing.
i would be interested to hear more about your brother's story/situation. it is very uncommon for someone to go to court because they downloaded music.

I concur with landon. If a legal action is taken against you, you'll never, ever get an email about it. Ever. It'll be sent certified USPS or delivered by a deputy or a process server.
He may be about to be scammed. Seriously.

What I really miss is Napster 2.0 beta 5 thru 7, and the accompanying napigator, opennap, and teknap. Yeah, I was so into that ****.
Ahh, the days of dial up where it took 20 minutes to download a single song.

if you don't want to pay, learn how to pirate like a real nerd. P2P has been out of date for almost a decade. The kind of person that would use Limewire is the kind of person that would probably support music people over 12 hate.
Jack Daniels kicked my ass again last night.

For any sort of single I just google search "song title.mp3" and usually the first few hits are enough (beemp3, mp3skull, etc.) Torrents are good for albums/discographies. I like to buy digital copies directly from the artist's website where available. Screw iTunes.
