I am considering going to test drive this GTI, the car is located somewhat far from where I live.
The car looks legit from the pictures, seems to be mostly original, comes with PSS9 along with other goodies such as a magnaflow. 205000km.

id say thats to high of a price tag for the amount of km on that car. I would thoroughly check that car for rust, being that its from Canada. also look for brown rusty stains coming through the undercoating when checking the floor underneath. check my signature link too see where rust lurks on mk3's. also those strut towers under the hood look patched up and recently painted too. id say that car is worth no more than $2000.

$2000 is a joke for that car.
If the Bilsteins are in good shape, and you test drive it and it does have a peloquin, those too alone are $2000, let alone the rest of the car.
The clutch/transwork leads me to believe it was boosted at one point, so check into that. But really, even if so its not a worry if it was.

start low right? should also listen for the timing chains rattling at back of the engine drivers side by firewall.

Shock towers have had serious work done. Check out the rockers, and if there's no rust (LOL) it's about $1500. If there is, walk.

Shock towers were definately redone. The owner claims to have some highend parts on there.
It's probably a good donor car

Why do those strut towers look like they've been painted? I would check for rust.. I mean it is a mk3
