Today my car suddenly decided that it no longer wanted to go into reverse. I have an automatic 1.8t mk4 jetta. It's been fine lately. No tranny problems at all, didn't make any weird noises or anything. Just won't go into reverse now. Does anybody know what my problem may be aside from having an automatic?

If you have a 09A then you might have a n90 solenoid sticking. There could be other causes also though.

(09A is the 5 speed auto with no pan on the bottom and it will have a "tiptronic" feature on the shifter)
Auto trans fluid change or flush will not make a trans fail. Stop spreading the wives tale/urban myth.
