Thread: Lets call this my slightly updated MK3 Update...

  1. 05-05-2012 03:55 PM #1
    Hi There;

    1st time poster, longtime lurker... Anyway I was going to post my VR6 build... but in looking at what other builds actually are, this is going to more of an update, spring cleaning, Tune Up, Fixer Upper?.

    My history is the 96 Jetta was my dream car before I could afford it (im ok with that). The neighbour across the street had a purple golf, I always daydreamed was a jetta and mine. Anyway, fast forward a Sunbird, Cavalier, Parisienne, 2.0 97 jetta GT, and I have my 96 VR6. I have a new car now, but love this baby just as much.

    I will post more details on type etc later... Here are some shots I took today. forgive the neglect please. Has been sitting at my parents for some time. Ex Girlfriend is responsible for all nicks and scrapes you see. Grrrr, but could be worse.

    Hoping the minor things i need to do to get it going (Aux Water Pump, Skirts, Lip, Windsheild, locks, suspension) gets me comfortable enough to consider simpler engine mods. Anyway, here it is... Please be kind, these are before shots. and I am a N00B ;o)

    Hope these google drive links work.

    I should say the previous owners who I have lost touch with may have been, or are on this site?. I am in Alberta Canada. Signature and what not to follow.

    fixed it for you.

    If you like the look OP go for it. but you will get plenty of comments like the above from people who have had it drilled into their heads that jetta front ends are the best EVER!

    clean up the paint issues, make sure you have a Bentley manual, take car of your car.

    Yes another user was nice enough to point out the unique setup to my ride lol. I want to get the Aux Water Pump in, as that will get it back to drive able, with no leaks.

    The Drivers lock popped out, and I might be able to just get it re-intsalled as opposed to buying all new ones and having diff keys for ignition etc. Other then that it needs a windshield and then I am going to decide on the cosmetic stuff.

    I installed a DVD Head Unit and 2 10" JL subs a couple of years ago, not sure what Im going to do there. I am just happy I have this pump now and can get rolling.

    Anyway thx for the suggestion. I will look you up when I get to the point of if I am going to do any major changes. I honestly didn't realize all the combos and am going to take my time in learning them and deciding which I prefer for my Baby.

    I will dig up the photos of when I got it. It looks in perfect condition. I really liked how it looked like a Big RC Car when I 1st got it, with the antenna and groud effects were in good condition.

    Thanks again.
