I have an 02 ALMS edition W 60k miles on it. The leather is decent, but I would expect it to look better had it been under my care.

Would it be worth it to have the leatherskins repaired or purchase new ones? What would you do? Any personal recommendations or experiences? Are the repairs legit?

All depends I reckon. What's up with the leather? ripped? discolored? wrinkled? hardened and cracking?

First I would see if it's repairable. You can even redye it if it's not ripped or torn.

There are a couple very small tears, but I've heard you can work on them, too. I just know they can be in better shape and I'm contemplating restoring them or buying new skins.

    Those photos don't look bad

Why don't you get a good leather cleaner and give them a scrub down and see what they come out like first?

My drivers seat is a little tired and so i have purchased new skins from an Audi/VW parts supplier.
I waited till they had a sale on and got them at half price..£400 for the 2 skins instead of £800.
Supplier was VW Teeside in the UK. I will be refreshing the foam on the drivers bolster as it has tired..

Liquid leather got it to this stage but bolster wear isnt an easy fix.

With all the cows we slaughter here in the US, you would think leather would be a dime a square foot here in the U.S. Any other tales of re-upholstering? I have a tear in my gray leather, and I'd like to get it sorted before it gets worse.

This is the car freshly detailed from the dealer. The pictures are of a small tear on each skin. They're very small, but I'm critical.

Do you drive your car or is it a showpiece??

^Just picked it up. Just thinking ahead for extra parts, etc., rather than waiting around. Wanted to get an idea of price.
