Never any signs of prior damage. No precursors to the end result.
Doesn't that saying work with just about everything? Im not justifying the coilover breaking, but there comes a line to every person where they have to justify the amount being spent with the vehicle in question. I didnt want to buy ****ty racelands that are gonna bounce all day with the prisoner built roads of CA, then again I couldn't justify spending a paycheck on coilovers. If i could do it all over I would have bought the H&Rs. Tried & Trued. Middle ground with coilovers is getting harder and harder to find.
I highly doubt the lock collar was overtightened. I tightened all 4 myself, and would expect the others to do the same as this one. Plus the collar would have stripped out before you could even man-handle its tightness.

It's all personal preference. Why get mad about someone else's opinion?
I prefer B&G for damping and how they are designed. I've had collars seize an whatever but a replace body thru B&G is like one hundo shipped. Finding a replacement H&R is a pain in the
Then again, personal preference and opinion. No need to hound who has the best out there, that's a never ending argument.
I myself have had H&R UUL and B&G's and my B&G's ride perfect. But I still wouldn't say no to a set of H&R's. I just prefer the B&G's.![]()

it was a month or two after i got the car (4+ years ago) and i really dont remember who i ended up getting it from.
i know the first couple distributors i called had no idea what Ultra Lows were so i called H&R directly and still had to go through a distributor but i cant remember who. let me see if i can find a receipt.

So I need to get two front struts as soon as I can, and I've called K-Sport twice now with nobody to pick up the phone.
What are my options, emailing didnt work.

I've had H&R streets, H&R Ultra Low I's, and H&R Ultra Low II's. Currently I'm running Ultra low I's on my daily, and Ultra low II's on my Golf. Best coils I've ever rode on, hands down, and I've had PSS9's, too, and Koni's.
My favorite set up for going low is some sort of H&R coil (Ultra low I, because I raise it all the way up for the winter), followed by Koni's, Bilsteins, and for a "budget set up" Koni yellow shocks with FK 60/40 springs.
