Thread: Installed FK Streetline Coilovers MKIV GTI Passenger Rear Is Uneven

  1. 05-06-2012 10:31 AM #1
I installed a set of FK coilovers yesterday. Everything went well and once I lowered the car down my passenger rear was much lower. I had all the perch set even on all 4 corners and also had new mounts installed.

I had to turn the passenger side up about 8 turns to level it out. Anyone else run into this? Thanks

has your car ever been in an accident front or rear? The only times ive seen this is when a body repair was improperly performed

No, yesterday before I removed my H&R Cup Kit I measured each corner from the center of the wheel cap to fender and all 4 corners were 13.5 so I know its got something to do with the coilovers.

When I get a chance I'll need to make sure the perch are sitting flush. All 3 corners are at 13" from center of the wheel cap to the fender but even with the passenger side perch turned up much more I'm still sitting at 12.5" on that one side.

Same thing happened to me when I installed my streetlines. I could never figure out what was causing it.

So if you figure it out, feel free to share

My rear passenger was about 1.5" lower than the driver side rear when both coilovers were bottomed out. I spun the passenger side up to even it out and just kinda forgot about it

Good to know I'm not the only one having this problem. Here is how it sits now. I think I'm going to turn each corner 2 turns up.

    With H&R Cup Kit

    With FK Coilovers

your rear main beam is most likely bent. it doesnt have to be accident related. they just bend over hard bumps or potholes or whatever

Not sure if you read all my post? Yesterday before I removed my H&R Cup Kit I measured each corner from the center of the wheel cap to fender and all 4 corners were 13.5 so I know its got something to do with the coilovers.
