Glad to hear there is a sign of him pulling through. Its a small step down the rough road of recovery.

TACOMA, Wash. — Many gathered for a vigil in front of a Tacoma hospital Saturday evening for the Puyallup man who was punched into a coma.
Friends and family of 21-year-old James Foster were in attendance in front of Tacoma General Hospital, where he is currently on life support with severe head injuries.
Pierce County Prosecutors said Foster was punched by 25-year-old Daman Lehman outside of a Puyallup bar the night of April 27 after Foster complemented the rims of Lehman’s Lexus.
According to police, Lehman punched Foster twice. The second hit made Foster fall back and crash into the pavement.
Among those who attended the vigil were Foster’s mom, girlfriend and dad. They wore "Team James" shirts that they had printed in support of him.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Reporter Alison Grande spoke with James Foster’s sister, Aubrey Foster, and she said that she missed her brother.
“I hope he gets better and he comes home soon,” said Aubrey Foster. “He helps me with my homework and I miss seeing him.”
Lehman was charged with assault Thursday, but pleaded not guilty and was out on bail.
One of James Foster’s best friends, Adrienne Kunecke, told KIRO 7 that she was upset about Lehman.
“I don’t see why somebody like him, should be allowed to even have bail. I mean, he could have killed my best friend, he could be dead right now.” Kunecke said.
On Saturday at 11:40 p.m., KIRO 7 learned that Foster opened his eyes and squeezed his girlfriend’s hand.

Can we stop with the "punched into coma" comments (in the media)?
The same thing happened last year with the electrician that punched the woman holding a parking spot in New York (after she hit him.. so).
It's not like they did a Mike Tyson punch that put them in a coma.
They fell back and hit their head on the pavement after getting knocked out by a punch.

I read that the guy punched him repeatedly and smashed his head repeatedly on the concrete. I'll try to find that article.
"According to witnesses, Lehman said "I put people to sleep, that's what I do" as he left the scene."

I am sorta at a loss for how this guy only had to post 7500 bucks to get outta jail for doing this. I feel this situation should be like they way concussions should be handled in sports, as long as they are out, you are out. IE as long as he is in a coma and however long a full recovery takes, this douche should be in jail.

I know, but it was only 7,500 out of his pocket to get out. the bail bondsman pays the rest if he doesn't show up for his court date. And jail will be perfect for this guy. He is a (assuming here) relatively well off white guy who is going to go to a high security prison and see what an idiot he really was, and once that happens it should help change his ways....

Lehman is not white, most likely he is jewish, not the same thing.
They better have him secluded and wearing a bulletproof vest, because he as a good chance of being killed at any time.
If he was killed and the executioner was not found it would save the taxpayer the cost of a trial and it would be one more useless eater off the street. That is a good thing.

Assailant seems like a real winner!
Applying to any real job with a felony on your record is extremely difficult, and pair that with the way this guy looks, dresses, and acts, I don't think he's going to be a senior partner anywhere anytime soon.

Can't wait for the sentencing. He'll toss more salad than a seasick rabbit when he's in prison.

Good news.
Why you wouldn’t (buy an Optima SX):
Because you have your eyes on the Frigidaire Limited Edition Camry that you saw last weekend at the neighborhood Autoplex.

Why would that be? Lehman(n) is quite a common German name - most common in the Alsace region of (nowadays) France.

I hope this young man continues to get better for his and his family's sake. A situation similar to this happened to my brother except he never woke up. Fortunately, it appears this guy will. I hope D-bag Rage-a-lots gets the punishment/help he needs, sorry, deserves.

Pics of said rims. Was he being sarcastic? This sounds a bit like "Oh poor old me. I just wanted to compliment his rims." This victim could've been asking for it all night hitting on his girlfriend etc and the rims comment was the last straw. I know a lot of you guys take criticisms against your cars pretty personally. A punch is not a lethal weapon and it's pretty difficult to prove there was an intent to cause that much injury. I will admit that Daman Lehman has huge muscles and I would probably be afraid to be punched by him because I have enough common sense to see that someone like him could put me into a coma.

I get it, dude says "Nice Rims" and Jersey Shore lays the beatdown on him; yeah probably not a good idea.
