Light came on yesterday going up hill. Temperature gauge was fine and I had just checked the coolant while gasing her up. I knew it had not leaked out because I have did not have any type of coolant smell. I stoped the car at another service station and checked. Coolant was at the same level and the fans are coming on and nothing seems abnormal. I turned the car off and disconnected the wires that go to the relief/overpressure reservoir. The light did not come back on until just now going down hill. I am suspecting this sensor is bad, and I have to replace the reservoir. Car has 118K miles and being a VW I am suspecting little electrical things are beginning to occur. What does the 2.0TFSI forum thinks?

Have you ever flushed/changed the coolant? If not, then yes, your sensor is probably gummed up.

Coolant has about 15K miles on it. I did it again today, and again I disconected it and plugged it back in and it went away again. I am leaning towards needing a new reservoir as the damn sensor is in it.

I wish cars went back to simply having an actual temp gauge (B3, E30, etc) instead of a dummy gauge with more sensors and crap that eventually fails and gives more headaches.

Light came on again today. Took it back to the dealer and they plugged the diag computer, but that got us no where. We are suspecting is the wiring (GREAT! VW GREMLINS are back!) or the cluster. I can get the cluster for 360 (I kinda need one since the pixels are all gone). Do any of you have a better idea. The car is NOT overheating and the cooling system seems to be working normally.

Would the Ross Tech VAG COM be able to help me diagnose the problems?
