MKV r32 with about 29,000 miles. My mechatronic unit was replaced just last week, but i still have one outstanding issue that im confused about. VW says they felt the issue when they test drove, but its not spitting out any codes, so they dont know what it is. Basically, when my DSG downshifts from second to first, it falls on its face at the bottom of second, then lurches forward as it shifts down into first. Is this an adaptation issue of some sort? Or is it something more serious?

Did VW re-adapt the mechatronics after it was replaced?

It shouldn't hurt to try re-adapting at least.
I have installed most of the popular bolt-on mods for a 2008 R32, minus suspension work. I know a lot about electronics and car audio, and have experience with VCDS ("vagcom"). I'm a radar/lidar countermeasure enthusiast. I like track days, autocross, and US Highway 129. I love aural pleasure.

You could do basic settings on the mech unit. Vagcom trans, basic settings, 60,61. Most likely it is a dual clutch pack problem. have done a hand full of these for various concerns, usually low speed concerns. Go to dealer if under warranty powertrain 5/60.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. Only problem being that my local vw dealer says that since its not showing any codes, they dont know what it is. First they told me to give it 500 miles to re adapt after the new mech unit, and its been almost 1,000 now...... So, should i mention the dual clutch pack and see if they cant figure it out?

Are you under warranty? 500 miles after basic settings on dsg in acceptable, but if its still having an issue. They can call VW techline and get advised what to do next. Just take it back to the dealer if the problem is duplicate-able, and especially if under warranty
