I bet the lowered suspension and tires really helps you feel the chassis flex in the corners.
Why not fix the rust?![]()

Because I know how much hate there is for goofy suspension setups...
Enjoy my car after racelands were put on this weekend.
crappy cell pics and some sweet rust/key lines when some douche cannon keyed my car a while ago.

lol, actually I don't feel much flex in the corners really... Not that I am taking any really highspeed ones.
The rust... theres just a lot of it in a lot of crappy locations. So once I get some spare coin I am going to get it all fixed and repainted. Or in three years when I have a house with a garage I am going to turn it into my project beast.
So really, whichever comes first haha. Sucks being poor.![]()

You're too poor to fix the cancer but had enough to slam it?

the coils weren't just to "slam it" Three of my springs were broken, had the coils for about 6 months or so sadly.
And I will be fixing the cancer, its just more than you see. Estimated for a shop to do it is like 3 grand for all that needs to be done plus respray.

OP you're a retard. get your priorities straight; fix the rust! did you even get an allignment afterwards?
don't let this ****ty VW near me please!

**** dude! i'll make it easier for you to understand. this is the TCL, where you get flamed for owning a VW, MK4 or basically anything that isn't a hyundai sonata. i'm just doing what TCL does best. case point, look at all the posts above me.
if he posted that same rabbit in the MK1 section, my responce would be different, very different. i like his rabbit.

Cool kid trying to fit in, rather than change the way things are?
If you liked it why didn't you just say so. This is one the reasons people avoid this forum. I appreciate that you like it but be less of a sheeple?
*edit*
I would like to add... I did coils because my OEM setup was shot, i am fixing parts on this car as they happen which is what this is. Sorry if my rust offends you, its just body rust and will be fixed later.![]()

Lower it first. Ask questions later.
OP you're doing it right. looks good man.

Fix the rust? Really? No offense to the OP, but unless this is a full on project, who in their right mind would spend thousands to fix some rust on a car that probably costs less than that? The whole panel would probably have to be repainted, but that wouldn't match the 20yo paint. What's the point?TCL for the win. Replacement suspension for $300 is correct answer.

love it...rock it till it rusts to the ground then swap everything over to a new shell and start over

I love E34M50. Glad to see someone making the current hivemind of "look how cool and anti-VW and stance I am" that is stronger than ever in TCL seem silly.
Car is cool.
Why the hell would he fix the rust if he can't afford to yet? It's a lot easier to just enjoy a few hundred dollars worth of coilovers in the short term while waiting for the long term project of fixing the rust.

So most of you would spend couple of grand on the paint job, rather then replace busted springs??
I don't see how rust is a priority over suspension work.
My truck has rust, but I first fixed the engine, then brakes, then suspension. After that I replaced few other things to make it a bit more enjoyable. Unless rust is structural and might be dangerous to drive it, I don't see it as priority.
Rust will eventuality get fixed, and I will probably do a home paint job. Not restoring the old thing, just fixing it as I go.
Racelands and most other cheap coils are a fashion statement and cosmetic improvement rather then performance upgrade.
PS who pays to have coils installed on older VW.
It's a 15-20min job, and up to an hour if its your first time.
