Can the Tiptronic handle a Stage 1 or 2 Turbo Kit? Maybe. Do you want a turbo car that's automatic? No.

In all seriousness, the Tiptronic MAY be able to handle Stage 1 but obviously, that transmission wasn't meant to hold the extra power even if it can for a while. You definitely wouldn't want to do Stage 2 without doing the clutch on a manual and same goes for auto.

Basically, a manual is optimal and definitely the best idea because you don't have the transmission robbing you of high RPM's and you have complete control of the car.

there are some other parts that you could use for this set up, you could get higher compression pistons blue water has 11:1, you could also over bore the cylinders and fit bigger pistons, forged rods, titanium valve springs, new valves, probably new rockers, you can also smooth out the intake ports on the head and the exhaust and lap the valves, torque converter if auto, custom transmission work you probably could get a stiff shift kit installed, new throttle body, if you do go with the cai you can also get a ram air to fit in place of the stock ram air, you can also upgrade the coil and throw in e3 plugs and new coil packs, these parts may not be specific to our engine but you dont always have to go with whats sold as for our cars when we can use generic parts for most of the engine

thanks, i have been creeping for a long time and doing research, but it makes sense doesnt it, like i never see anyone boring out the block to like 2.6l or 2.7l and basic machining can pick up some ponies

and if you buy packs for v6s you will always have spares

Im pretty sure you dont see anyone boring out the cylinders because there isnt room to do so, and as for porting the head... these flow Really well, and the flow of air is not limited by the head.

Not if you are wanting to make any power. From what I recall the cylinders already have a really close tolerance to the waterjacket. But thats just what I remember hearing.

i remember a loong time ago on the rabbitownersclub forum there was this one guy who did some sorta NA build and had a 2.6l. but the cylinder walls are soo thin. plus gains are not worth it when you can spend the same $$ on a turbo and make more power.
