How much would it cost to have the piping redone by a shop? Did a small segmented boost test on the easiest 3 pipes to reach and every thing leaks bad. Welds and all. Im 18 and don't have the time, knowledge, tools to even attempt selling it up. Was hoping you guys could give me an idea of the cost to have it redone/fixed.
    Thanks

even by just buying a universal ebay intercooler piping kit you can do a decent piping set with no leaks... just measure twice and cut once, use the right size AL pipes, couplers and t-bolts (worm claps works just as good)

2001 Gti 1.8t powered by Dalhback (sold and will be missed :') )
    1988 Jetta Carat Vr6 powered by www.LugTronic.com (99.9% done!!! )
1987 Scirocco 16v w/t3t4 57trim powered by SDS (sold but never forgotten)

    Agreed.

    To the OP:
Are you sure that you are leaking from the welds? You've got quite a few couplers visible in that pic you posted. If you are leaking from the couplers you'd be better served replacing them vs welding. As mentioned by PjS it might be more economical for you to use a universal kit instead of having a ton of welding done to correct whatever problems you have. Maybe you can identify exactly where your leaks are and post a pic showing the exact areas so we can give you more direction.

yeah its the welds. Im thinking just going to a shop and having them reweld some spots for now. I want to redo the wires and plugs. Any suggestions for an upgrade and what should i gap too? I get misfires/stutter when accelerating 45-65mph. My a/f goes rich, lean, rich , lean, rich, lean when it happens. Maybe a bad injector? (210cc Passat AEB injectors) engine scan says cylinder 2 misfire.

Misfires will show up as lean due to the un burnt oxygen in the exhaust stream. try your plugs at .020-.024 and see if it helps. Honest info above, I would just redo the piping with a cheap IC piping kit like they both said. What are you running in the way of tuning?
