Thread: N/A vs FI

  1. 05-06-2012 07:33 PM #1
So i was thinking about building a good N/A car, but i just found a used stage 2 v-9 supercharger kit relitivly cheap.

Now i know that i can get about 260 to the wheels quiet easily N/A and i know ill never hit 300 to the wheels. With a supercharger i could get 300 + to the wheels easily. I love the idea of a fast N/A car but a supercharger would be awesome.

Id like to know the pros and cons about having the supercharger and what id have to do to keep my engine from blowing or if itd just be better to stay N/A. I dont want a pro to be its faster or more power with the supercharger, i know that.

I would plan on doing all the same mods to get that power N/A if i were to do a supercharger so $$ is the issue. It would just be an extra, but i dont want my engine going boom.

A low boost SC won't cause the engine to go boom, seriously. Have you tried searching on these subjects, there's a bazillion and one threads on this stuff. I've run 8PSI on stock compression for about 25k miles. BTW, if you are going to install the VF kit I'd recommend getting the new HPA bracketry (when it's avalable on their website), it's like 50ft/lbs less tension on the serp belt.

He used to have a V9. It's currently for sale in the classifieds. I'd buy it myself if I had the funds to spare. He currently has a V1, as seen in the video below.
