I think im averaging 23-24 with a big turbo setup. Service records are always nice, if they dont have paper work for the timing belt then just plan on having to pay for that. Check the engine bay and make sure it is real clean, 1.8ts have the biggest issues with hoses(boost leaks) and sensors. Look under the oil cap and see if it looks clean or nasty, sludge is another issue. Good Luck!

I am running ko4 all out

averaging about 25. I have stretched it to 30 mpg with ac on cruising from ATL to Knoxville a few times. You got to keep it under 80 to do that.

Over all I get 280 - 320 constant city and city hwy driving per tank. I have stretched it pass 400+ a few times on a cross state trips.

Gregg3gs, is yours a Quattro? I've never seen 30 mpg, even keeping it at 65 mph on the highway. Also are you doing the calculations with fuel receipts, or trusting the cars MPG computer (which is very inaccurate in my experience)?

The computer, she is a "glass half full" type. The mileage numbers I get when using the receipts are always lower than the computer.
