Thread: I wish....

After driving my B7 for 6 months , I have noticed that I have 2 things that I constantly say to myself .....this car would be so much better with :

    1. The same seat adjustments that my B6 had - think it was 8 way . I can only get so comfortable in it - height and thigh controls would make it perfect

    2. Those crappy trunk hinges - loose tons of space in the trunk and nothing like having them smash down on golf clubs

    (Also , no wagon )

I cant imagine fixing those 2 things would add a great amount to the cost - really pisses me off

I'm sure you saw the recent thread concerning the Passat in China. That is the car VW should offer here. Sure they want to keep a higher number of customers...keep selling what they have, but make the SEL or SEL Premium what the China car is.

Plus, even that China version, just barely equals what the LuxII or SportII was on the B6.

I also understand that they left many luxury things to the CC, but i am sure there are families who would want the practicality of a larger sedan, with those nice luxuries.

It's the same car, just more bells and whistles. And to get all those bells and whistles, the Chinese are willing to pay upwards of $50k.

Besides, even the Chinese model has the crappy trunk hinges!

    Cheers,
    Lucky

I actually don't mind the hinges that much... and I like how the trunk lid opens completely out of the way of the opening (unlike my MK4), and how it opens all the way when you pop it.

I agree and also i think it needs proximity sensors akin to the 7 Series, for parking that massive nose, and reversing with that huge butt!

    Everything else is spot on.

Keep dreaming. The China highline B7 Passat would absolutely eat the CC's lunch. I'm pretty sure they're not trying to cannibalize their high end offerings. It'd even cut into the Toureg segment AFAIC.

The Chinese Passat's price converted to USD would be around $40K. Doubt there's much of a market at that point.
