do you have factory wheels or aftermarket?

I've been doing some tracking on my miles and fuel consumption until a quarter tank is left, and I usually travel rush hour traffic highway and city, I'm only getting 19 mpg.. Something seem off. what is everybody else getting?

mine is something crappy like that. most of my driving is city driving though. i usually get 300-315 miles out of my tank whatever mpg that is...

Sounds pretty realistic to me based on how heavy your right foot is. I'm a very relaxed driver in my car and I get like 23 mpg. Entirely city driving though.

I would average anywhere from 23 to 26 with a very heavy right foot on my 2.5 Auto. That was mostly city driving with a small amount of highway from time to time.

I got about 19 - 21 average on my SE 2.5... getting 30-32 routinely on my GLI![]()

I am routinely getting 27-29mpg with 80%hwy 20% city. Got 24-25 the first 2k miles. Now I get 24.5 as a worst case scenario only when gunning it a lot

I reached a new milestone in the GLI yesterday. Went 325 miles on a tankI got my average up to 30.5 according to the computer. I typically get 250-280 a tank, lol.

With my manual 2.5 SEL
24-28 City
30-35 Highway (just did a 315 mile trip and my gas gauge is still showing half tank...though I've found that the first half always lasts longer than the second half tank)

been tracking fuel consumption since day 1 on my 2.5.
My current average is 27.823mpg and all time low is 23.037mpg and all time high is 32.811 mpg. This is with just shy of 20k miles on the car. My driving is about 65% highway and 35% traffic.
I've also been cycling different octane fuels every 5000 miles to determine if there is a difference. There isn't (with this car). So just stick to regular, you won't get more mpg's out of premium.

About 4500 miles on my manual. Drive 80% hwy 20% city and have consistently been getting 29 mpg. 340-380 miles per tank.

How many gallons did it take to fill up when you got 30.5? If you filled up with 12 gallons you should have gotten 366 miles out of that 12 gallons.
325 miles with 12 gallons is 27mpg. Which if your computer is as crappy as mine, should be about right. I filled up at 167 miles yesterday, gauge said I was in between 50% and 75% full and at 28.3mpg and the true value I hand calculated was 24.9... a whopping 3.4mpg difference, crappy computer!! lol

on my sel, ive normally got anywhere between 19 if im gassing it, and 23 if i just let it sit on cruise control all the time.. right now my avg on the jetta is saying 26-27.. why, i dunno but im not complaining.. but i will complain because i can only go 180 more miles on my tank, and only got 140 miles on my tank.. which is going to tell me im getting roughly 21 mpg when i fill up -.-
