Questions: Buying a car from Germany, shipping to Asia?

Hi there,

I live between the States and Cambodia and very interested in buying a European LHD car to take to Cambodia for me. I have been really wanting an Austin Mini, or a "real" VW Beetle classic. I just like the idea of having a German VW from Germany, even though it makes no difference.

Obviously I don't know much about Europe, but is there an "FAQ website" or a good exporter that anyone can recommend to where I can possibly order one? Good used car websites?

And also, are there any tips for car shopping or shipping in Europe? I speak limited German and Spanish, so I can get around if I need to, but anything advanced and I am in trouble.

Any good advice is very greatly appreciated. Thank you!

BLG and EH Harms are two huge auto exporters from Bremerhaven... Those would be mainly for roll-on-roll-off ships - otherwise you might be able to get a cheap 20' container from a million different places.

You'd better check into customs duties and taxes in Cambodia - you'd need a customs broker on that end too.

Thank you much! I didn't know where to start there, I've never been to Europe.

As for the import side, my brother in law is an importer, so I can get anything I want into the country. I just didn't know where to start on the European side.
