You guys think this is the water pump making this noise?

I held it under the passenger fender when it gets louder

from what I gathered after looking forever that's what I'm leaning towards, just started happening yesterday, this video is the closest match I could find and it turned out being the water pump for him too

yeah I'm aware these things go out on 24v's often, I checked with the PO he said he never had to replace it, just wanting to get as much information as possible, thanks guys

when my water pump failed it started leaking coolant

I have the same exact sound and it gets louder on the passenger side just like yours!

I am going to get a new water pump and a new tensioner. Those things are not easy to get to but arent terrible to change without a lift...

Ill do those post waterfest sometime next week...

Let me know if it goes away after you change the tensioner, that's something else on my list, but for some reason it's gone...........for now

I mean how bad is it to run with that noise?

Im going to WF friday and dont have time to repair it for now. Ive had the sound for some time, and someone else reported high miles with this sound...

I have no idea, I found that after driving a few minutes it would go away, then come back for a split second at idle then stop, worst that could happen in my mind is that it's a pulley and you have to get towed if it fails, I mean that's bad, but it's not omg my car is screwed bad.
