you're going to literally crap yourself once you get that car started after that clutch is installed! i still can't get enough of my clutch set up! instant engagement and serious grip! it'll make you wonder how you drove without it... besides the easy revving of the lightened flywheel!

overall i'm really liking the progress!
god i love my car. it may not be fast, but it's crazy fun!

thanks man! what's really going to kill me is having the car back together and then having to go easy on it till the clutch breaks in. That's the last thing anyone wants to go after building their engine

took the coilpacks out and this is what I found

guess now I have a reason to order those nice red ones

      valve cover off

      what caused this to happen?

now it was time to lock the crank. You must aligned crank pulley notch with the notch on the block. When aligned right the threaded holes in the cams will be facing upward

put the crank securing pin in and torque to 30nm

screw in cam locking tool into thread cam holes and torque to 20nm

then stop to drink some summer shandy

      take timing chain cover off

then you must use a screw driver to push up on hydraulic tensioner and place a small allen key in there to hold it up

anyone know what could have caused the coilpacks and inside the spark plug housing thingy to be like that? It's kind of looks like it's corroding

edit: I definitely had a valve cover gasket leak. when taking the valve cover off I noticed that the bolts weren't that tight

Its probably just a little water that's gotten down in there no issue to worry about.I actually use dielectric grease on my coil packs to keep that from happening

when you replaced your engine did you open up the valve cover at all? just wondering if the engine you bought had a loose valve cover to begin with...?

No I didn't actually. So yes, I'm thinking it was already loose to begin with

The only way to go with the flywheel its steel, aluminum would cause way too much chatter

My Fx400 is a chattering monster, can't imagine what aluminum would be like

Well my 1 hour that I planned on spending in the garage turned into 4

After 2 hrs of using a bunch of stuff I finally got the block cleaned up to what I think is good enough

      dirty head

I think it's time to clean the garage up a little

I ended tonight with the head half way cleaned. I'll pick up again tomorrow and want to have the motor back together by the end of the day.

You know I'm really hating you right now, expecially since I got you through inspection and never got to go for a ride before this and the white **** isn't collant, if it was you would see it when you drain the oil. Moisture getting into the crankcase. Very common on chrysler/dodge vehicle, pretty much common on newer engines because of the way the pcv system is designed

I know man! I'll take you for a ride once its done. I had a loose valve cover some how which must have caused the problems, so you're right.
