You know I'm really hating you right now, expecially since I got you through inspection and never got to go for a ride before this and the white **** isn't collant, if it was you would see it when you drain the oil. Moisture getting into the crankcase. Very common on chrysler/dodge vehicle, pretty much common on newer engines because of the way the pcv system is designed

When an engine comes out, good things happen.

    In for good things.

I know man! I'll take you for a ride once its done. I had a loose valve cover some how which must have caused the problems, so you're right.

Alright, hit my first road block in the build

I got what i'm told are tensioner spacers, but I have no idea where they go. They are all different sizes. Of course C2 or anyone that would know aren't available on the weekends

well since I'm stuck, I started to mess around with the expensive polishing kit by dad bought for his motorcycle This is a pic when I first put a little bit on to see how it does. Not bad

and about 2 hours and one beer later....

can't get a nicer looking intake manifold than that

Thanks man. I was pretty impressed with the end result too.

Any word yet on the resistor info?

I'm driving down to Philly to move my stuff back so later today I'll send a pic of the kit. Comes with like polisher, cleaner, sealer and some other stuff. It can be used on anything. My dad bought it for his Harley and I kind of just stole it now

    in time young JEDI!!!

honestly if not for pure luck, and serious saving...i'd still be making payments on the car and it WOULD NOT be turbo'd

i just set out the day i picked it up with 3 miles on it that i'd pay it off in less than 3 years and i'd have the turbo on it soon thereafter.

I was able to source the kit from a former 2.5T owner (teamzleep) for a helluva deal and all worked out! From that transaction, i've become pretty close with zleep and jimmy! it's crazy how one little thing can bring people together. and i can say that the turbo brought me a handful of people i consider TRUE friends

I hear ya, between family, house, tool bills, etc. Money is tight since the auto repair industry SUCKS! I do have a plan to either pull the engine and do a full rebuild, or buy a spare engine and do so. I wanna build a 2.5 that can handle my abuse with a turbo. I figured IE rods and pistons, send the head out for porting, polishing, and push it to around 600whp and i'll be happy. But def gonna be a few year build

And the same situation for me. I bought my kit used for half of what they sell for new. Tyler and I were both lucky to find used kits for sale because we all know there aren't many ppl out there with turbo'd 2.5's. And after having the kit now, I don't know how anyone would want to sell it

that would be bad***. I kinda regret not just buying pistons and rods, but in all seriousness 350 whp will be enough for this car. ****, 255 whp was pretty good for me and I bet Tyler probably feels the same way. Adding just the SRI to my car probably would have been good enough, but I wanted some kind of summer project so that's half the reason why I am doing this.

I totally concur! This car screams and really beats up on most cars on the road.plus its not dime a dozen 2.0t stage 2gti style garbage.being unique is a big deal to me... In all honesty I'm completely happy with my stage 2 set up... But I'm going to build it up... Internals are my route I think... However a head spacer is a much easier approach and I'm sure I'd be more than happy! Sri is coming...but I've got to figure out my suspension now...really thinking bags are in my future...but I hate the attitude people get once they get them.as if they're all the sudden cool

So far it's been a good day. Talked with C2 and got the tensioner problem all straightened out and my BFI motor mount just came

Time to finally put this engine all back together.

I hear ya both, a good 50hp bump in power will always give a **** eating grin. Last true build I did was my 88 Mustang notch. 5.0 bored to a 306, built like "factory stock", with a nasty cam. Made around 400 to the wheels before nitrous and with stock suspension ran low 12's, just not consistent. I'm way over due for a good build and since its in the works of getting my old 95 f-150 back, the jetta can def. become the toy. Plus I like to push the limits. Head spacers are good, but still run the risk on piston or rod damage. I'd rather have the bottom end over built then have it under built and blow the thing to timbucktoo

yea i agree. too bad I didn't just buy pistons and rods but it's too late now Nothing I can do now besides push this thing to it's limit with head spacer and blow it up so I can do bottom end build
