Hey guys, i've been debating this for a bit now, but i never had any second thoughts..

After seeing a ton of Audi B7 & B8's with their black headlight housings and i thought, that it would look SICK. if we had them on our bixenons.

i saw this picture , and with my plans for blacking out my whole grille, i was sold.

I'm going into my bumper and stuff to try to see whats wrong with my BiXenons and thought, hey, if i take apart my housings, (CAREFULLY) of course, would i be able to plasti-dip the main housing black? it would look sick in my opinion. keeping the projector corning lights alone, just the silver part. What do you guys think?

Getting home to NJ from school in Arizona and i'm getting giddy about mods to the B6 when i'm back!

Basically the bottom brushed chrome looking part. I'm starting to get some stupid condensation in there too so i fixing the seal and everything I'm trying to fix.

I've been thinking about doing it on mine (not bi-zenon though). I've done it on two previous sets, but they weren't VW.

there's a set of black s5 style lights with the LEDs that they sell, but everybody has problems with the black paint on those cracking and/or bubbling due to the heat. I would maybe test whatever paint / plasti-dip you plan on using with some high temperatures before you do it and have problems. I hope you find some that works great.

try it! awesome project i think, i see tons of B6s with black headlights, but never one with the AFS, I'm really wondering what it would look like since the bixenons have sort of a different shape in the headlight

that's what i read too, i'have had the plastidip on my wheels for a while with hard braking and they've held up pretty well. It's vinyl so we'll see when i hopefully get a chance to get this done. hopefully others would try it too

I've done this a couple times actually. Put them in the oven for a bit and the seal between the lens and housing will soften right up. Easiest way to take them apart!

ain't gonna work on a b6. gonna have to cut the housings open

even with hella halogens, the glue is extremely heat resilient

You've done that with these lights specifically? I've wanted to black out the matte silver piece inside the housing for a while. I've oven-baked lights on previous cars to do it, bu not on these. A little more worried as they are not cheap.
