Thread: New to the Corrado world...

  1. 05-07-2012 02:28 PM #1
    G'day fellow Corrado owners,

Here it is, my seventh Volkswagen! After many Golfs, and a Few Jettas I have finally purchased my dream car. While it does not run at the moment and needs some love, it is what I have been looking for. Right now the head is at the machinist, and parts are on order. The car had bad supercharger seals and a blown headgasket. Hope to have it on the road soon, keep you all posted.

Nice, always love alpine white. If mine were a little cleaner when I bought it I would have held onto it. Good luck

While you have it apart I would recommend doing some maint on the car. Water temp sensors, new thermostat, fan switch, check your injector harness for cracks in the wire casings, and new vacuum line from the ECU to the TB with the exact same diameter at 1 meter long. Sounds like the car may have been neglected if the charger and head gasket was blown to upkeep is never a bad idea...

The car had been sitting for seven years, I have replaced more than I can remember, if it was rubber it is new, all sensors except the ISV, all gaskets and seals, all fluids, cooling fan, thermostat, water pump, fuel pump, fuel injectors, pressure regulator, and a whole lot more. I just want to brin this rust free back to it's original glory.

Yes it is an ambulance, retired from saving people. Now it just saves Volkswagens.

Haha it should be stickered appropriately! I need to get. Sticker for my Ram stating "Corrado Emergency Response Vehicle" or "Corrado Tow Truck" haha

Sounds like you're doing it right so you don't need any advice until you put it back together

That will happen, I guess I need to make a trip to the local sign shop for some decals.
