Saturday I run-hiked the Grand Canyon (6h down and back if you care ) and my legs are still sore and stiff from the abuse. I'm not really a runner so I'm not familiar with whatever tips there might be for recovering after a big excursion like that. Is there anything special I could do or eat/take? I figure going for a run tomorrow will loosen them up some, but I have no other ideas. Thanks!
I always plug in USBs right the first time.

I usually eat a lot of carbs, take some advil, and rest.

      Scotch.

Running seems a bit aggressive for me, especially if my legs are already sore and tight. I did a long run last weekend and my legs were really sore. I just took some advil and rested them. I feel fine now. And scotch.

Well I had a beer as soon as I reached the top, is beer as good as scotch? Or should I have a Scottish Car Bomb?

In my expert medical opinion, I say both.

But just like dras said, I load up on carbs to restore energy and I stretch a good amount. Bonus points for massages.

imo, a beer is not as good as whiskey or scotch for recovery.

You know, 200 years from now archeologists will be reading this thread and thinking that we really drank ourselves to death after exercise.

I went for an hour long run and that really loosened them up, so that's my prescription now.

to recover from my marathon i ate, drank, and got massaged. the deep tissue massage seemed to work the best, hurt like hell initially though.
