I need a valve insert for my a/c line. I got the part number from the dealer, they wanted $25 for an insert! The one I ordered online didn't fit and was made by a company named SANTECH but they messed up and made a bunch of inserts that don't fit. Does anyone know of a place I can get one? It's getting hot outside...

Which insert are you speaking of. There are valves in the low side fitting and high side fitting, that is either a ball seat type which will need to have the whole line replaced or valve style similar to a valve stem

The schrader valve. I just need the "stem" or insert. Mine was leaking.

Go to a parts store, and they should have a universal kit that has all that stuff in it, along with o-rings, etc. for around 15 bucks

Man...you know it's a VW. None of the parts stores had/have anything to fit. I wish it was that easy because If it was I wouldn't be on here right now.

You'd be surprised with the kit I am speaking of. We keep one in stock at all times at the shop I work for, the problem is that the shrader valve is pretty much a tire valve step with a stronger spring rate, for the best seal get the OEM valve

All of the kits I saw had much smaller stems. Nothing that I needed, I wish. The factory one that came out of my car is much "fatter" than the rest.

I already have a pic of the old one next to the new one that I sent to the place I bought it from. I don't have a flickr account or anything so give me a minute to figure it out.

Ya since they don't have it in stock and I have to order it anyway it seems a lil retarded to pay $25 for something that is out there for like $4.

No problem, thanks for checking. For such a simple part I'm having a hell of a time finding it.

I talked to Hunter the other day, he couldn't help. I can't remember why not just couldn't. I have started my local search again, gone to several different parts places and have been passed around like a drunk girl a a party. Still nothing. I just got back from my local stealership and that douch said I had to buy the entire line! I left before getting I blacked out and started beating him with the dumb ass hats and shirts they sell in there, I have gotten a part number for what I need from there so I know that isn't the case. Only thing is the part I got using that number didn't fit, close but no bueno.

I can't believe I am having such a hard time finding this stupid little "part". Can anyone help end the madness?
