New member 2010 CSG GTI from ATL

Hey guys. "long time lurker" etc. I test drove the mk6 GTI back when they just started arriving at dealerships and wanted one since then. Finances were pretty tight, my 05 corolla (first car) was paid off with cheap insurance, so I decided to wait. A few months ago after plenty of research and getting my finances in order I started shopping for a car. Considered the mkV, mkVI golf/gti/tdi (the only must - manual tranny).

Found a 2010 base manual TR Golf with 13k miles in perfect condition and clean history at the mini dealership for $13,000 and couldn't pass up such a deal. The guy who showed up 30 min before me with a check couldn't either, so back to searching I went

A week later - a trade in at the chevy dealership - 2010 manual gti, xenons, sunroof, standard back then touchscreen radio, clean history, 36k miles. Went in, test drove, took it to VW for the inspection since the warranty just expired. Everything checked out fine and the car was in amazing shape. Got it for 19k OTD with monster mats and trunk liner.

So far:
1. Removed the dealer sticker. Replacing the dealer plate frame when I get my plate tomorrow.
2. 35% tint all around (no pics yet).
3. 1/4" clear tubing in door seals to get rid of the squeaks.

I'm curious about this bit^. Do you have any photos of this? Where exactly did you put this tubing? And how did it work out for you?

I put some clear vinyl tubing found at home depot between the 2 rubber pieces of the door seal. Very impressed with the results. The tubing is 1/4" outer diameter. 10 feet is enough for both doors if you have a 2 door. It's barely noticeable and you gotta know to look for it.

That one gets pretty busy during the summer and only in the summer. Dead rest of the year. See ya around!
