Definitely a swap meet!

Great turnout for the 9th Annual CFTC! Rough count is 350 cars over the course of the day. Even with a new location, different route and limited notice the VW community did not disappoint. Now is the time to set up next years 10th Annual CFTC. Your feedback is huge in prep for next year. Good or bad please share your expierience. No changes can be made if you don't speak up.
Suggestion so far -
1) Event page on Facebook (It didn't even cross my mind, sorry)
2) A later start time - (The meet time was 30 min early than previous years)
3) AAA as a sponsor. lol - RedDoor Construction provided a truck & flatbed that got some good use.
4) Swapmeet area - This was mentioned multiple times. How much interest is there?
5) Set announced time for raffle & auction.
6) Bathrooms - I didn't see lines, but then Im not sure how many ppl knew they were there.
7) Route - I didn't make it on the cruise so I have zero input.
What kind of raffle/auction items would you like to see there? More parts/upgrades, gift cards for local business? Any preferences on food vendors? I did miss Frank's bus this year but I heard good things about Dr. Latte.

Swap meet is on the list.
Any thoughts on the location - loved it/hated it
We don't know yet if Weyerhaeuser will allow us back for next year. As long as they are happy with the condition of the lot after the event we should be good. But in the event the buildings are leased out in the next year and we can't use that space suggestions for an alternate location would be helpful.

The Location was nice as it had plenty of parking, and easy access on and off of the freeway, but on the down side there wasnt BBQ's and portable stoves allowed which makes having to buy from vendors, which takes money from the cause. I dont mind supporting the vendors also, but I would rather my money go to the cause.
The Cruise was a good one, and the scenery was great! Couldnt have wished for a better day! The cruise might be a little to long to get all the activities such as auction and raffle done in a timely manner.

I like the location. Easy on and off.
BBQs would be nice.
I did have a FaceBook event for my VW group but it would be more appropriate cooming from CFTC group. My event notice was mostly copied from the official webpage and VWVortex.
https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/355077921193439/ Still got 46 hits for going, 11 Maybes, and 40 invites with no responses.
A lot people decided to sit on the walkways and stairs near the main tent. Made it hard to get through without stepping on the vegetation. We need to keep Weyerhauser people happy. Need to keep those pathways clear people!
Never saw any issues about the bathrooms but the locations could have been marked better. Don't know how people missed them since we had to drive right by them when we came in.
Maybe a CFTC run booth selling coffee and doughnuts for the morning arrival.
CFTC souvenir post card with different stamps for start, summit, and return. I was originally thinking of a VW Passport of sorts. Car info on the first page. Ink stamps of events on subsequent pages. People seem to really go for patches, decals, or dash plaques. Maybe a special "Summit" one available only at the top.
Ditto on the swap
I liked the route and didn't think it was too long. My 74 Thing did fine although my generator did have some trouble with a hanging brush (nothing a little percussive maintenance didn't fix)![]()

CFTC booth selling coffee & donuts - Only licensed food vendors were allowed on site. We can def see if we can make something work. Krispy kreme is usually pretty good about fundraising stuff. The other draw back would be no running wate on site.
Dash plaques -![]()
BBQ's - This is something that I dont know if Weyerhaeuser is willing to negotiate on. But it will def be brought up. Perhaps if we had fire department on site they might be willing to bend. I like the picinic/cook out feeling. Really cuts down on cost especially when you have a large family/group.
Route - Q had 3 different routes to pick from. This was the closest to the original route as he could get. The total cruise was 127 miles. Any suggestions regarding the route would be greatly appreciated. We had the option to go up & down Hwy 18 which would have made a shorter cruise, but thought big changes would affect attendance.
