So im in college and the past weekend i had some friends over. Now when i grabbed it yesterday there are weird bloches in the screen and it wont turn on. The top lock part is sticky but the ipod itself isnt really that sticky. Some idiot probably spilt some drink on it but it went unnoticed for who knows how long. I got a bowl of rice just now and put it in. do you think its done for or a possible it will be ok.

Edit: Somehow after sitting in juice and alcohol for 2 days and then a bowl of rice for 2 days it works. Im shocked.

There's no harm in trying the rice bowl and hoping for the best, but if it's not turning on right now... Well, that's never a good sign. It's also never a good idea to try and power anything like that on until you're sure it's dried... but, live and learn. Oh, and blotches on the screen are never good, either...

Ideally you'd also want to pull the battery and take it apart as much as possible, but that's easier said than done in a iPod.

There's also the whole issue with corrosion, which is more or less of an issue depending on what got onto/into it.

thanks man im gonna try and see what happens. If it doesnt work looks like i need to find some cash for a new one cause work is coming up soon and it sucks without music. and i put some songs on my iphone right now but listening to music on the iphone kills the battery quick. it will never last 8 hours
