What is the difference between 0 ("old") and 1 ("new") coming home logic? Obviously one is old and one is new, but is functionality different, or is this supposed to be checked on newer CECM and not checked on old units, or what?

I noticed a setting as well for "coming home via ambient light sensor", but when I tried this I got several errors back from the CECM (the coding was OK but it threw errors when I locked/unlocked the car, where coming/leaving would normally activate). Is the "ambient light sensor" here NOT the same as the one in the RLS?

Car is an 08 US-spec R32 so it has the RLS and high line central electronics.

When you choice 1 - you should get E400 Error, Whar Ever it is, its not even available in Elsa drawings.
Activate needle illumination in ALL MICRONAS cluster since 2004 up to 2010. Activate STAGING for all NEC cluster since 2008 even if not availabe in adaptation chanel.

E400 error when trying to save the coding, or if I run a scan afterwards?

I believe I actually changed it to "New" (checked the box) and the coding was accepted. I haven't been paying enough attention to see if there was actually any change in the behavior of coming/leaving home though. I also have not gone back and scanned it for errors so maybe there is one.

Anybody know about the "ambient light sensor" part?

Ambient Light Threshold is typically found when referring to Coming/Leaving-Home functions - but that is the light function of the RLS. Post the Auto-Scan before and after modifications from this vehicle is you are having issues.

I will grab one next time I get the computer with the car, thank you Dana. Any comments on the "old" vs "new" setting for the "logic" on coming/leaving home? Do you guys have any idea what it actually does?
