I found a 2012 Touareg Hybrid with trailer hitch for $59,890. Is that a good price, or should I shoot for something lower? I believe the TMV is around $60,000.

I think that's not bad. You might be able to still work on price a bit if they really want to move it.

Mine is a 2011 with trailer hitch and got it for $58k. I didn't want the 2012 model cause it didn't have the back up camera and it would cost us more. If you could find a 2011, there really isn't a difference in the car. Same exact specs, nothing improved and it'll help you probably save another $2k+

Work for a better deal. I think you can get $1500-2000 below invoice, especially if it's been on the lot for more than 60 days. Maybe even lower. Do it before you go to the dealer.

You can get a 12' with the camera, only some don't have them

    Other changes:

    Start button is aluminum now

    MDI in glove box

    No more auto hold

    Any other 2012 changes?

I just looked at a random sample of 2012 Touareg Hybrids at dealers online. All of them have the backup camera.

Well, I bought it today! They gave me more than top dollar on my trade ($12,688 for a 2006 Touareg with 104,000 miles that currently has the engine and transmission removed for repairs), and I got a $1,500 voucher from VW of USA, so I paid $59,290 the way I see it. I got 1.9% financing as well. It came with:

    First Aid Kit
    Rubber Touareg mat kit
    Trailer Hitch
    Trailer Hitch 7-pin adapter plug

And it has the backup camera. They had one on the lot that did not, but mine has it.

    I could not be happier!

Hello guys, I apologize for highjacking this thread (didn't want to start a new one on the same topic) but I am also looking to buy a Touareg Hybrid. I found two that I like so far, one is 2012 with MSRP $62,715 my price is $58,600. The other one is 2011 MSRP: $61,885 with the sale price of $55,000. Both can be bought with 0% for 66 months. I know that 2012 no longer has an auto hold, are there any other differences at all between 2011 and 2012? If there aren't any I'd rather get an auto hold and save $3300. What do you guys think?

The 2011 is less due to depreciation. I would strive to get an even better deal. Then see which one drops more. If it were me, I would get the 2012 but you need to decide what's best for you. Good luck!
