I'm probably going to redo the entire system in my 2012 R in the next few weeks. The Dynaudio system is pretty weak. I may do it myself but if anyone has recommendations as to shops they've been happy with in SLC, I'd like to hear it. Pretty much all of them get 1/2 ****ty reviews on Yelp/Yahoo except for Laketown. They did my STi years ago and I left pissed off about something but I don't even remember what. Anyone have good or bad experiences in town?

What kind of stuff you wanting to replace the stock with?

I have no idea on a good shop, just curious how you can buy a brand new car and hate the system.

I'm still running my Monsoon and it sounds great.

Obviously there is no bass coming from the Dynaudio system. It tries hard to fake it but without a dedicated sub, it's just going to be missing. I ordered a JL Stealthbox and a JL XD600/1 amp to add but now I am thinking I might as well do the front speakers/amp, too.

I'm surprised by the rattles I have, too, at moderate volumes. The quality of materials in the cabin tricks one into thinking it's a very upscale car but sound deadening seems no better than a Subaru. Dynamat time.

I've had aftermarket systems in all my previous cars until my 135i which was finally good enough to live with. Even then, the low end was a little empty. It at least had little 6" subs under the seats, though.

So the Dynaudio system is not awful like an STi's but it certainly isn't above average, either. I do like the cute little RNS315 HU for some reason.

Travis is the best in the industry. I just completely overhauled my Saab and couldn't be happier.

If you decide to get rid of your 315, please let me know. I've been looking for one for a bit!

After going and listening to Travis's A4, I was inspired - that's what I want. Of course, $10k is a bit beyond my stereo budget but I think he sold me on at least incorporating the Audison Bit Ten processor. I've got to decide now on how big I want to go. Seeing the pieces starting to add up, I was leaning toward keeping the 315 HU but maybe my desire for album artwork will over come me.... I'll let you know if I pull it out. What did you get put in to your Saab?

I am so glad to hear that it went well. I told you Travis is the man, seriously.

I upgraded my whole sound system. The car has a 6 speaker stereo system. The guy who owned the car before me tried to wire his own stuff, but it COMPLETELY sucked. My door speakers weren't even set up correctly, so they weren't even playing.

I decided to redo everything with full Focal speakers along with a smaller mascone amp, a 12" focal sub and bluetooth pioneer deck. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with all of it. I am not one of those people that just plays music to make noise. I am very picky, audiophile. Travis has been the only one that can relate. Sure, I can appreciate a good base drop, but I actually want to HEAR the music, you know?

The system all works so flawlessly. I am blown away by the level of detail that Travis put into everything to get it just right. He initially ran into some problems with the way that Saab originally wired their sound system, but worked them out and delivered my car on the set time he had promised.

Regardless of what you want to spend, Travis can hit you needs with any setup. I'm not sure if you're into the same music that I am, but you are more than welcome to come plug in and see how it all sounds!

    P.s.

Here is a link to a little article that Travis wrote up for the install.
