    Anyone ever have the timing chain service done??? how much did it cost you????

    I don't recall there being a scheduled timing chain service. Is it making noise?

    What car/SUV do you have? Try posting in that model's forum too for more responses.

    Well...assuming many have been quoted from $1400-$1600 to replace the oil pump bolt I'd say it's probably more. Almost the same labor is involved but more parts....I'm
    Sure it can be done cheaper by a VW shop (non-dealer) who's done it a handful of times already.
    With that said, there aren't a lot of shops that have done many of these. As stated its really not needed unless its making noise.
