Wow! That's amazing :thumbup
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

I'm sick and just woke up from a nap and thought I was legitimately hallucinating when the video cut to the shot of Diamond Dallas Page.

I had no clue what DDP was doing for all these years but it's great to hear he's helping people.
That's a lot more than a lot of us can say.![]()

I'd heard/read somewhere that he was big into the yoga thing but I didn't know he was having this kind of impact on people... I just thought he got into it because it was low-impact and a way to stay in shape after he (probably) destroyed his body in the pro wrestling game. Good for him.![]()

OT delivered something worthwhile (other than boobs and Florida articles of course).

I've gotten into Bikram Yoga after buying a groupon with my wife. It's amazing to start to notice results, even after just a few weeks of going 1 or 2 times a week. Like, a legit 2 inches off my waist, and I only had a 34 inch waist to begin with.
It kicks your ass, but I have so much more energy the next day. It's pretty incredible.

That was unbelievable

i have a fraternity brother who was in a similar situation. basically, he couldn't lose weight. he was closing in on over 260lbs at 5'8" tall. he couldn't run. he smoked. he drank too much. he had no self-esteem. so on his 25th birthday in late january (about 4 months ago) he decided he didn't want to die of a heart attack by his 35th birthday. he started working out. walking at first. then jogging one mailbox and walking the next. hitting the gym for a few hours a week. he quit drinking beer. gave up most junk food. has a set weekly "cheat" day to eat pizza or drink. he's now counting calories with a phone app. within a few months of cutting back to just a few cigarettes a day, he's now running 5-7 miles a few times a week. he's lost over 40lbs. he looks healthy. and he's continuing to drop 3-5lbs a week. by mid-july he wants to be at less than 200lbs...a weight he hasn't been at since his sophomore year of High School.
its been very inspirational to me as a friend as I had long worried about his health, weight, and drinking habits. not only that, a couple weeks ago we were out at a bar, and he got a phone number from a pretty decent looking girl. its the first legitimate shot at a date he's had in several years. i feel like he's got his self-esteem back...which is great.
this video just reminded me of all that. great post by barry (you'll note its also in the inspirational videos thread started a few days ago too).![]()

As one who has learned to walk twice, I love these stories.

the position being taken is not to be mistaken for attempted education or righteous accusation only a description just an observation of the pitiful condition of our degeneration

that was badass!
I'm about 6 months in on my regular yoga sessions. Physically I haven't changed much but my anger management is pretty damn good right now.![]()
If you can't measure it, you can't understand it; if you can't understand it, you can't control it.

Awesome
This should be inspiration for any generally able bodied person who thinks they can't do it. The human body is amazing.
