    My vr6 has no throttle cable. What year did they do away with them?

    it wont work, u need a VR cable
    97 Jetta GL, OBDI VR swapped, 262 cams, GIAC chip, turn 2 style CAI, Magnaflow catback, 2.9 clone manifold, eurospec flywheel, B&G RS2 coilovers, MKIV front and rear seats

    i believe the mk4 were the start of the drive by wire

    2.0 cables will work in a Mk3 Vr. They are shorter. You have to route them behind the Manifold, not through the valve cover notch and around the manifold.


    This works really well when doing a shaved/tucked bay. The pedal feel will be slightly stiffer.

    interesting, I did not know that...wish I would have when I did my swap...oh well
