New Owner - 2012 GTI Autohbahn...question #1 (missing cupholders)

Been lurking for a bit but finally took delivery of a 2012 Carbon Steel Grey 4-door Autobahn. LOVE it! Anyway, my question is this: according to printed lit., website, etc. it's supposed to have 2 cupholders front AND rear. The fronts are obvious But the rears seem to have been forgotten? The owners manual indicates they should be in the fold down armrest: they aren't. They also are not in the rear of the center console (aka Euro cup holder). My two kids could really use them!

What gives? Could other 2012 Autobahn owners chime in so I have a leg to stand on with the dealer? It's less than 12 hours old

My 2 dr Autobahn has them in the rear seat armrest, you need to lower the armrest to see them.

My 2012 4DR Sunroof and Nav has them, you should definitely have them.

I had to go check and make sure I had them in mine too. Yep, I do. I bet the dealer would swap them out for you if you went back and asked.

you need to go back to the dealer and show them that you don't have the two cup holders in the rear arm rest as stated in the manual. I am sure the dealer is going to check out other GTI on the lot to confirm if the cup holder do come with the car.

HAHA these factory flops seem to happen every now and then. Dealer should replace it without any issues. If not, call VWOA and kindly tell [bitch] them your issue(s).

I was told if it isn't on the list of options on the sticker, VW will not add it at their cost. In my case, those items were not listed on the sticker so I still don't have them. You get what you get and it seems some days at the factory they must just run out of parts and build the car with what they have.

Just took delivery of a 2012 GTI Autobahn on Saturday, manufacture date 03/2012 from Volkswagen AG Germany. Rear seat armrest cup holders, hatch 12V outlet, and grocery bag hooks are all accounted for.

One thing for sure, there's a guy online somewhere who thinks it's amazingly awesome that you don't have cup holders and would pay a small fortune to swap with you.

Well I hope he finds me soon! Dealer ordered the part to replace the "de-cupped" armrest.
