Local LEOs usally have more and better things to do than chase kids in Hondas just for having bright headlights.

    Just saying.

Frickin' facespace and all those whippersnappers!!!!!

Man, do you realize people said the same thing about you growing up? And I'm sure you have done a few things not quite legal either. Most people don't know they're breaking the law and aren't going to run out and buy new lights for their car because no one gets in trouble for it.

So stop the whole this new generation thing, because it's not 'this new generation' at all. You're just a bitter old dude, who probably isn't that old.

Actually they do, I have seen a few tickets for illegal modification to the headlights/lighting.

If anything, it should be an automatic stop to see if you are doing something else illegal.
Also, inspection stations that allow these cars to pass should be fined and lose their license to inspect vehicles for 6 months. That would stop it rather quickly.

So my car came with HIDs stock. One ballast burned out, I couldn't afford to buy a OEM replacement. So I bought an aftermarket ballast, should I be fined too? And I'm sure if people were made aware that they could potentially be fined, then they wouldn't do it.

Raise the awareness, and stop blaming it on the younger generation

    Why would you be worried?
If you have stock HIDs then you have the correct housing for HIDs.
How hard is that to understand...

OP sounds like a bit of a cry baby I'm sorry. Yes they can be annoying but no more than average idiot driving around with their brights on or one headlight aimed at the moon that I see daily. I've seen plenty of HID's in stock housing and never once have I been so blinded I thought I would crash. There are plenty of other things that scare me about the younger generation than a choice of headlights.

I did a HID retrofit using bmw x5 kendroin bixenon projectors. With the fact that the projectors cost me less than 50$ shipped, there is no excuse to be running drop ins when real oem projectors can be had for so cheap. simple 2 wire solenoids make wiring the high beams simple.

Ironically, while looking in my photobucket for a picture of my retrofit, I see an ad for HID's, where it looks like they photoshopped IN glare.

Feel free to follow me on instagram @wesmurphy for pictures of bikes, bimmers, vws, etc

LMAO - thanks for the support of the original poster LOL. If you had stock HID then you have the proper cutoff for the HID beams in the projectors that came stock.

no one has a monopoly on the *******s... but this generation seems to have a lot more of them...

Im personally a fan of the "English degree from a college costing about 150k total to go to" and then they complain they do not have a job. Well, you majored in a language you already speak, in a country where that language is primary, and its history can be digested on Wikipedia. You read a lot of books, all of which do not really develop any marketable skills, and you didnt even get good grades in school.

Of course your not going to get a job, your a POS. If you spent even 2 minutes thinking about your future, instead of thinking about how to make college as easy as possible and how to do as little work as possible, you may have figured out a better major and would have a chance of getting a job.

I do not feel bad for you. And yes i will take a large fry with that.

(yes there are exceptions to the rule, but those people would have succeeded with any major in college because they understand how to do a few things, manipulate people, position and market themselves and their abilities, understand general concepts of life, business, and socializing, and they are not stupid to begin with. - we all know them)

on another note, what exactly makes me the ******* for providing documentation and offering to assist with the proper install of hids? is it because i know how to do it? or that i know the science behind rods, cones, and the cornea?

More evidence of you acting like a smug assclown and breaking the law to report someone breaking the law. Didn't your mother ever teach you that two wrongs don't make a right?

    ^ this.

I see them on my way to work.. I flash and hold my high beams on all the time.

I can tell you from my observation that its mostly folks from 25-40 with them in my area.

    +1

I get blinded by SUVs and semis way more than I do these lights.

And young people are always stupid. Let that bother you too much and you'll die of ulcer in 3 years.

I have zero problem with a set of drop-in HIDs if your car has a projector housing stock and you use 35w bulbs. I have them in my car and when I'm driving at night (don't use my lights during the day like so many A$$clowns in the HID retrofitted group), I have never once been flashed at. I have seen people with projector housings utilizing the 55w bulbs and those can be blinding

There's a guy in my APT complex who has a set in a ford edge. I've seen this guy drive up behind me waiting at the gate to the complex and his lights are so freaking glare inducing that it gave my fiance a headache (passenger mirror reflection). He even uses the lights during the day so everyone knows he has 'dem blue lights.

My question does anyone have a flier I can print out and put on his car? Similar to the youparklikeana$$hole.com ones.

    Thanks in advance.

(Ahead-of-time warning: This is a tongue-in-cheek but somewhat serious response, but these things really do irritate me =) )

Are more people driving around with their old-school high beams intentionally on all of the time in response to super-bright and weirdly-colored headlamps? I see this a lot more of this "high-beam-always" these days. What would perpetuate such actions? A desire to fit in? Retribution for being blinded more often by new oem and aftermarket offerings? I am actually pissed off about the development of all four of these situations, those being: more people seemingly with their high beams on all of the time, people with their oem super-brights, people with their aftermarket super-brights, and then of course the weird-color spectrum people. I am often blinded or otherwise irritated by any of these drivers, but the oem crowd is the only one with a valid excuse since the feds say it's OK.....ugh.......

I don't have dangerous HID retrofits, but I did have a train horn for awhile.

A friend of mine in high school had a theatrical/stage spotlight set up to point out the BACK of his Bronco for when people were tailgating him. You couldn't really see it until he turned it on (bolted to the ceiling), but it was like looking into the sun.

The insurance industry should be up in arms about the modified lighting in these vehicles. Most lighting modifications are for off road use.

    Most of the time I see that the person is either;

    1) Oblivious to the fact that they are on (the big blue lit up icon on the dash is obviously not enough)

    2) Have no clue about car maintenance or cleaning even and the low beams are basically worthless through their fogged, dirty, scratched, waterlogged lamps that they feel the need to use the high beam to approach what would otherwise be considered normal light output.

Again, everybody seems to think once they get older that the "kids these days" are some sort of horrible. Seriously, everybody who uses this schtick just sounds like an old grouchy grandmother. Next you'll be complaining about their music, just a bunch of noise I say!!

Me too. I had the dumbass yellow pimp lights mounted under my bumper and freakin blue tinted headlight bulbs in my totally awesome 1994 Chevy Lumina Euro (seriously). I bet the 25-30 year old car enthusiast set in the late 90s were shaking their heads at me as I drove by and saying "kids these days."

This. I do it every single time. My high beams are OSRAM and are intense.

The English irony and parody elements are sublime. Your funny way to go to there
