If you hadn't already guessed from some of the photos, the 'Twist' is the golf front on my Jetta Coupe. I've never really been a fan of the Jetta front so I was always gonna have a the Golf front. I went with the R32 bumper, deleted numberplate holder and de-badged grill as well to get that mean look.

      Sorry for long delay!!!!!

So things got a little hectic down the garage over the last two month, plus the windows took forever to come. Got em' now and they're in and the car is finally water tight. They fit like a glove so the template was spot on. We even managed to the get the rubber bead from the Golf to fit on there.

Got some temporary wheels on the car for now till I get the faces of my 3 piece splits back from the powder coaters.

I just put a current picture up on the facebook page if you care to take a look.

Last night VW Sam and I modified the fuel filler neck to come into the boot. That works well too.

Lets see………… that's it really. Car is booked for a stainless system on Tuesday. We were gonna do it in house but some of the bends needed would be too radical for us without a pipe bender. Just need to trim the headliner to hide a few sins, then its all good. Car will be complete by the end of August just in time for edition 38.

      More pictures to follow.

So I have been have some difficulty posting up updates as I have no home computer right now and the work PC has a serious firewall.

I've found this app so it's back to business as usual.

The project is now 90% finish and it drive like a dream. Took it to the edition 38 show. Had a flat on the way up but got there in the end thanks to some great friends who brought me up a spare wheel.

      10 Sept 2012

So I haven't posted any updates for a while. Here is what happened over the last few months.

The recession kicked me in the face so the build had to take a back seat for about a month. My friends got some money together and leant it to me to get the wheels and the windows so I could fit em to the car. VW Sam is a life saver.

      ...the wheels

      ...the wheels

      .....the windows

I needed to get to new front barrels and two rear lips for the wheels as my old ones had had it. Props to the guy from the split rim shop for hooking me up. I then decided to powder coat the faces to give the wheels some character.

We assembled em' and they came together a treat. I didn't leave to glue to set long enough so the offside front one deflated on my way up to edition 38. No harm done tho. Just took ages to get the car recovered. Good friends VW Sam, Mikey, Duwango and Yilmaz came up to meet me with a spare as I didn't have one in the car (rushing to get to the show). Swapped the wheels over a local tyre shop and we were back on the road. The show was really good. Nice cars good, turn out. Might just be the best show of the year.

      Edition 38 2012

Didn't like the finish of the powder coat as it was chipping to easily. So I took em' back off and stripped em' down again to get re-powder coat and then I'd get to seal em' better this time! Rolling on some wheels VW Sam lent me for the time being.

The polycarbonate customs rear windows and they for like a glove. I even manage to get the guy to put in a rubber bead around the window just like the mk4 golf two door ones. Looks good but I really should of got a scratch resistant surface on it. I guess I'll learn for next time. Still looking for glass one though. Might have to look toward the US for that.
