So I recently bought a 2008 GLI...and the first order of business was installing a Neuspeed P-flo cold air intake
    Fresh off the lot

    Post-op

One thing I have noticed since installing the intake is that when idling the car tends to shake a little bit...more so than before...it's not too dramatic, but you can definitely feel it. Is this normal?

Next order of business is getting the ECU Stage I upgraded. I'm thinking APR or GIAC but open to other suggestions...and then I'm thinking about installing a Eurojet 2.0T V-branded downpipe with high-flow race catalytic converter. Any better suggestions on how to proceed following the Stage I upgrade?

Any and all input is welcome and appreciated.

    Noise pipe delete

My vote is for Unitronic over APR and GIAC.

why dont you get the downpipe before you get the tune?

i belive the requirments for stage II are a cold air intake and a downpipe?
Than you can go right to stage II.

    Just my 2cent. good luck

IMO just go directly to stage 2 with the downpipe.

I'm a personal fan of REVO software, but whatever is most accessable to you in that part of the state. Our options are somewhat limited in CT, the shops aren't exactly a dime a dozen around here.

After your tune, start playing with your suspension. Lower it.

Yea, I was thinking about just purchasing the stage I and I believe you get the stage II upgrade for free...personally, I'd like to see how the car drives at different stages... and then once I get the stage II, I'll definitely be looking into new coils to lower it...

    Thanks for the input

I know it too. I've gotten a feel for the stage II+ so I have no doubt that'll come around sooner or later...
