I was thinking of putting some larger off-road knobby tires on my RC18t. I want to do this for a few reasons:

I got the car used, so I have no idea how old the current tires are (2 pair - on & off road). The road tires are a little worn, so some new rubber would improve traction.

The car now is too fast for its on good. I know that sounds like a good thing, not a bad thing, which I guess it is, but its hard to control. This happened after going lipo (already had a Castle! brushless upgrade). So I'm thinking the larger tires would slow the car down slightly, and be able to put that extra power to use by going onto more "extreme" of road surfaces. Downside would be higher ground clearance will cause tipping more easily. I can tip the car now (if I try to) and its pretty low to the ground.

Whats you say for foam tires for the road tires. Would that cause more driveline wear since the car is "hooking up" easier rather then spinning the tires and thus putting more wear on the components.
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

    this place is slow.

Well, in a odd turn of events, I was on Craigslist looking at RC stuff when I found a guy selling a Traxxas rally something and it included a ton of tires. I sent an email asking about buying just some of the tires and he ended up being the same guy I got my RC18t from in the first place. Cool dude, looks like Ill be getting a deal on some tires.
