I'm a new VW owner ('09 Wolfsburg Jetta) and just thought it would be fun to see how many people were in the area and maybe build up some friendships/camaraderie with other owners.

I'm actually out in the McCalla/Bessemer area.

Exactly. Most of the guys are in Auburn though. Some in B'ham, Tuscaloosa, 1 Jew in Israel, 1 Jew in Memphis, 1 in Aniston, North Bama, South Bama...it's an all over thing.

I'm in Hoover though I don't get out much with family and work etc... I've always thought it might be a good idea for all the local dubs to crash one of these muscle car cruise ins. Everyone's nice enough it seems. There doesn't seem to be enough water cooled enthusiasts excited enough to get a local club going but it wouldn't hard to piggyback someone else's meet to get together. Good to meet you.

Almost all the people that post in the Alabama People thread dont even drive VWs. ( Jap Cameros,FTW) Im guilty too though because I am usually driving my 3 or 5 series. The GLI only comes out for special occasions now like SOWO. Im thinking about camping out again,but wonder if my car will be on lock down in the show area all weekend.
