It's a matter of perspective really. Compared to the Mustang I usually drive, it's definitely lacking

new trans fluid - 1/2 redline mtl, 1/2 ford syncromesh fluid. make sure to change the fluid in the turret on top of the shifter (also - regrease the shifter bushing at the bottom of the linkage that floats in the turret).

made a world of difference in mine.

It's a matter of perspective really. Compared to the Mustang I usually drive, it's certainly slow'er'
That's probably the nicest base RSX I've seen ever : )

I would say 160 hp in 2800 lbs. isn't fast, but not slow either except the auto trans on these cars suuuuucked.

Bingo. It shifts quickly for a tiptronic, but that's about the only praise I'll give it.

Is yours a 5-Speed or a 6-Speed. From what I've read the 5-speeds are very smooth but the 6-speeds are extremely vague. 5th is really easy to miss, and 6th is almost impossible to find unless you backhand the shifter and put it in that way

an rsx is by no means "slow" I guess you've never driven a car with a sub 2.0L 4cylinder. Mk4 & mk6 2.0 are pretty slow. As well as the old school 1.5L civic.

i've owned 4 miatas, an s2000, and a solstice gxp.

there is absolutely no way the solstice gxp or s2000 qualify as slow cars to drive fast. absolutely no way. any sub-3k car making more than 200hp doesn't count.

I can't really think of a slow car that I *didn't* enjoy driving fast, unless it was mechanically unsound.

81 300d. Driven as they are suposed to - pedal to the metal!
People who complain about their speed drive them like grandmas.
      It's a non turbo - 88 hp when new

Also this - 650 cc air cooled, great fun

Correct. I can only comment on the vehicles I've owned and/or driven. A slushbox base RSX sure feels molasses slow compared to others I've had in the stable, but it's still great fun to drive quickly - which I believe was the point of the thread.

I don't expect this experience to be true for everybody that's been able to drive a broader range of vehicles, but it's certainly true for me.

There is something about ripping away from someone through a cloverleaf on or off ramp with one of these that cracks me up.

Also, the guy in the 308GTS couldn't keep up with me down 17 Mile drive at Pebble Last year, and I lol'ed. Just righting the wrong for the guys that drive 50 down the freeway in them.

Its a trick question....if I say they are fast people call me out....but I kind of agree with you. They are pretty fast cars that 20 years ago would be considered fast by exotic standards. But compared to Corvettes, Ariel Atoms and the such (other cars I've 'experienced' first hand), they are 'slow'(er).

If your car feels like it's on rails, then you're going too slow.

My father had one of these when I was in high school:

1949 MG TC which was right hand drive, four forward gears and 1250 cc's of screaming power! The car was a blast to drive and for its' time was a monster in the corners due to low curb weight and a really low center of gravity.

I also had a bone-stock 1978 Scirocco Champagne Edition (1.5 liter with a 4 speed manual) that I bought from the original owner back in 2003. That car was slooooow but with Koni adjustables and swaybars it turned-in pretty well.

No MKIII ABA? C'mon, we slippin VW fanbois!

Car is now higher, rides on RPF1s and was a total hoot on track day locally. I amassed many "kills" against superior sports cars when jockying for position on on-ramps. 5 series were my favorite to beat up on, until the road straightens out...

And as the Miata guy said... super fun to drive in the corners, blown out of the water by minivans/camrys (and yes, the camry guys know it and beat up on my at the stoplight).
      Shutup and drive yo cah'!
