Bump can't find much info on this. I want to keep this swap dbc. I read somewhere you can use a aeb harness on a awd or aww engine as long as you use the tb. Plz help any info would be good thnx -myles

Hey all, was in the process of building my 2.0 to turbo.. however looking at costs its going to be much less for me to purchace 1.8t aeg and wire harness/ ecu. I know the mounts are differnt from what i have read however I have not come across a solution for this. I also want to stick with the drive by cable setup. I have also read that I need to swap the entire harness front to back. Is this true? I picture just running the new harness for the engine to the ecu. Just some pointers im looking for.
I dont want to hear your comment on buying a jetta with a 1.8t in it
I just want to hear of what is required to get this baby in my car. I can walk to work in 3 mins so my car can handle alot of down time.
not worried about the short gear ratio with my 2.0 tranny OR how weak it is. Im aware of all of these things.
I have available a wire harness and ecu off a 02 1.8t will this be compatable with the aeb? Not sure exactly when they switched up to dbw and who can I talk to about disabling the immobilizer and do I need the cluster from the car that the engine harness is from? Thanks.
I will be running a t3 manifold and K26 turbo with external w/g
Thank you for helping me. -Myles

Crankshafts are different on Auto versus Manuals, I believe (atleast in later years they were).
I think all Mk4's were 06A blocks and the audi is an 058 block, not that this matters its just all the accessory drive system is different.

Ok, its a no go on the aeb. However, I picked up a aww last night.! (I suppose my topic is now now how do I get my aww in my 99.5??) The motor came with engine harness ecu and transmission. I couldnt turn down the deal on the engine and trans @ 650 bucks with a new g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch. car was a write off....
Now... How can I keep my car dbc If I can. Can I have immo defeat done and run dbc throttle body? I belive my car has no immo and im not sure if I can use my cluster or not. thanks for any info -
Basically what are my management options? Would love to stick with the stock ecu and splice in my cluster if I can. -Gone fishing for the weekend. Checking back in on monday. -Cheers
