funny, I was thinking same thing yesterday, but I don't know what the stock hood weighs for a point of comparison.

I know Seibon sells one but I wanted to see if there were others that weren't over 1k.

"OSIR Design replacement exhaust valance in factory spec for the new VW Golf R. Vacuum infused premium carbon fiber with a high gloss finish. Shown with optional DTM GT6-RS. DTM GT6-RS is not included."

Those fins are optional, not standard.

I love the diffuser fins, but $600 for just the base piece and I'm sure the diffuser is probably just as expensive... yeah, no thanks.

I think it looks damn sexy but I probably would say no to the fins too.

As long as it is aerodynamicly tuned it would be worth the $$$$. Everyone thinks about tires and suspension when it comes to grip. The one thing always overlooked is aero grip. A properly tuned diffuser will clean up the air as it exits the underside of the car. That causes more downforce on the back end. The "Shark Fins" help clean up the air by reducing turbulence. Also it improves the performance of rear spoilers. Just ask Jenson Button the 2009 Formula One World Champ. The Brawn Double Diffuser kicked ass that year!!.

One point to keep in mind... If its aerodynamically tuned...did the OSIR part went through this process during the design like a formula one car does?

I would think its a bit too much as my car is mostly in traffic jam
